Having a fixed layout may mean that a webpage has a predetermined  width and height. A fluid layout means the size of a page can vary depending on the resolution of the  monitor’s device. I believe a fluid layout is better in today’s time because there are different devices used in today’s world. You may have anything from a computer, a tablet, a smart phone, or any other device and that means that the size of the screen will be different.
